Millennial Scholar Academy


The purpose of the Millennial Scholar Academy is to expose Grace College students to an array of leadership principles and instill in them a passion to serve their campus and communities as current students and as alumni. The program was initially launched out of a Lilly Endowment grant aimed at attracting high achieving, out-of-state students to Indiana.

MSA Pillars

  • Explore real life examples of leadership and leadership principles.
  • Promote pride in Grace College, Kosciusko County and Indiana.
  • Build networking opportunities amongst alumni, community and state leaders to establish early ties to Indiana.
  • Encourage service through volunteer and leadership positions on campus and in the community.
  • Educate students about alumni interaction and connection.

Target Audience

Grace College undergraduate students who reside outside Indiana

Selection Process

MSA students are selected during the admissions process by a committee chaired by the VP Enrollment and Marketing. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and must show academic and leadership potential, as evidenced by past performance and future goals. Previous leadership experience, scholastic success, financial need and a written essay are taken into consideration when making the selections.

On very select occasions, current Grace students may be invited to join the Millennial Scholar Academy based on availability within the program. The decision to offer invitations to current undergraduate students will be made by the MSA Director under the guidance of the VP Enrollment and Marketing and the Director of Financial Aid.

MSA Scholarships

All scholarship amounts are dependent upon the student completing the MSA requirements. Scholarships are renewable each semester. Scholarship amounts are as following:

  • 1st year student — $1,000 ($500 per semester)
  • 2nd year student — $1,500 ($750 per semester)
  • 3rd year student — $2,000 ($1,000 per semester)
  • 4th year student — $2,500 ($1,250 per semester)

MSA Requirements

Once selected to the Millennial Scholar Academy, students will be asked to fulfill a variety of responsibilities related to leadership seminar attendance, grade point average and volunteer service activities. 

Application for Millennial Scholars Academy will be provided by invitation to students who qualify.
